Even at close to thirty years of age and a man mind you, I’m still capable of shedding a tear over the mere mention of Phish. So you could imagine how I reacted when I heard that Phish was reuniting and that I would soon be able to see a Phish concert for the first time since 2004. Nostalgia has set in as college memories of jamming with my old friends and aspiring to be Trey float through my mind.
Phish has become an iconic and legendary band and they’ve transcended age, gender, race and generation barriers as well. Having been compared to the Grateful Dead, anyone who has been to a Phish show knows that Phish concerts are overwhelming, but in a good way.
Phish tickets used to be available through a mail order system called “Phish tickets by Mail” that allowed fans to receive unique Phish tickets designed by band artist Jim Pollack. Since then Phish has left that arrangement for an Internet-based ticketing system.
Phish tickets were available by lottery until very recently, meaning that Phish tickets aren’t guaranteed. For those who are looking for a guaranteed way to pick up Phish tickets, Phish tickets here are pretty good (hence why I keep linking to them- I got my “It” and “Coventry” tickets there), and you get what you pay for - a chance to see an amazing band. Here’s a pretty official review site for those who are skeptical. I had a wicked terrible experience with tickets that didn’t even exist on eBay (I was $600 bucks in the hole for Big Cypress tickets and had to spend MORE else ware).
But regardless of which avenue you chose, be sure to pick up some Phish tickets soon because prices are steadily climbing and hardcore fans like myself will grab all the good ones before they sell out. I have heard countless stories from friends who were left begging for tickets outside the venues. Now that full Phish tour is on sale, you make want to check out Phish tour dates on my scheduling page for the full rundown.
